Process of a Typical Web Design Project
Initial Information Phase:
- We’ll discuss project requirements, time frame, budget, and other pertinent details. A project questionnaire form is also filled out to help get some of the more specific details sorted out such as goals, objectives, and target audience.
- We provide you with a quote based on the requirements and goals gathered in the project questionnaire and make recommendations.
- Upon approval of the quote, a contract is written up with the timeline, payment schedule, technical and other details of the project.
- Both parties sign the contract and a deposit of 50% of the total cost of the project is submitted.
- All applicable assets required for the project (examples include: content, logos, brand colours etc., photos) should be submitted at this time.
- Wireframes will be created to aid with the organization of the information to be included on the website.
Design Phase:
- Concepts are created based on the information previously discussed in the Initial Information phase and posted online for client review. The number of concepts is outlined in the contract.
- The client will select one concept to move forward with and make revisions to. Typically there are 3 rounds of revisions, the contract will have the exact number.
- The concept will be revised according to feedback and posted online for client review.
- Once the Design Phase is complete, the client signs off on the design for development.
Development Phase:
- The site is built using current web standards on a development site.
- Upon completion and testing, the site is submitted to be tested and reviewed by the client.
- The site is pushed live.
- The balance of the fee is to be paid within 30 days of the site going live.
